WESTBOROUGH, Mass. — The Bay State Concert Series has ended, but Sally Johnson Presents is back to work with a new Westborough concert series at the Boroughs JCC.
The Community Folk Series will begin Oct. 13 at 7:30 p.m., featuring The Boxcar Lilies.
"I see these artists and know they're coming through," Johnson said on her reason for planning the series. "Most people don't have a clue about the wonderful people that are out there."
The Western Massachusetts-based group is "becoming increasingly well-known for wowing audiences with their standout marriage of superb songwriting and innovative harmonies," according to a statement. Another band, Beggar's Ride, will open the show.
Along with concerts, the folk series will include "workshops, open mic nights, and special programs for kids."
Unlike the Bay State series, this is not a town-run event and requires tickets. The cost per ticket is $12.50 if purchased in advance or $15 at the door.
