What To Do In Northborough This Weekend

NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. — Here's a look at some events in Northborough this weekend:

Friday, Sept. 28

  • The Algonquin varsity golf team will play Leominster at Gardner Municipal Golf Course, 152 Eaton St., Gardner. Play begins at 3:30 p.m.
  • Varsity field hockey will play Quabbin Regional at home at 4 p.m.
  • Varsity football will play St. Peter-Marian at home at 4 p.m.
  • Bill McCarthy and His Guitar will play acoustic covers at Guiseppe's Grille on 35 Solomon Pond Rd., Northborough. The show begins at 7:30 p.m.
  • Pop Rocks will perform pop covers at JJ's Sports Bar & Grille at 380 Southwest Cutoff. The show begins at 9:30 p.m.

Saturday, Sept. 29

  • Melican Middle School will host the 3rd Annual Northborough Stands Together Against Bullying 5K Walk/Run. The event will raise awareness of bullying among young people. Check-in is at 7:30 a.m. and the race begins at 9 a.m. A registration form can be downloaded here.
  • Families will get a chance to see construction trucks up close at the "Family Touch A Truck" event at Northborough crossing, beginning at noon.
  • The Algonquin boys and girls varsity soccer teams will play Shrewsbury at home. The boys will play at 2 p.m. The girls will play at 4 p.m.

Sunday, Sept. 30

  • The Northborough Food Pantry will host its 7th Annual Pine Knoll Food Drive. Residents who have received bags from the food pantry may fill them with non-perishable items and leave them outside for an 11 a.m. pickup. The food pantry has given out 250 bags this year, and hopes to collect about 800 items.
