NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. — Here's a quick look at what's going on in Northborough and the surrounding area this weekend:
Friday, Oct. 26
Girls' Varsity Volleyball: 4:45 p.m. Algonquin will play Shrewsbury at Shrewsbury High School.
St. Bernadette's Fall Festival: 5 p.m. Delayed by a month due to the threat of mosquito-bourne illnesses, the Catholic school will hold its annual Fall Festival until 10 p.m.
Varsity Field Hockey: 6 p.m. Algonquin will play Wachusett at Wachusett Regional High School.
Varsity Football: 7 p.m. Algonquin will face Holy Name at home.
Saturday, Oct. 27
Varsity Cross-Country League Meet: 8 a.m. Algonquin will compete at Ghiloni Park in Marlborough.
Purple Pinkie Day: 10 a.m. The Northborough Rotary Club will be collecting donations to fight polio worldwide. For more information, click here.
Bike Donation: 10 a.m. "Bikes Not Bombs" will be collecting bike donations at the First Parish Church Unitarian Universalist. Many will go overseas to Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean.
St. Bernadette's Fall Festival: 10 a.m. The Catholic school will continue its annual Fall Festival until 10 p.m.
Varsity Soccer: 5 p.m. (Boys); 7 p.m. (Girls). Algonquin will face Westborough at home.
Sunday, Oct. 28
Boston Youth Symphony Orchestra: 3 p.m. Five Northborough students will perform with the BYSO at the season opening concert at symphony hall in Boston. They are:
- Zoe Chang, 13, Violin
- Maya John, 14, Horn
- Yang Lin, 17, Violin
- Alexander Mayhew, 17, Trombone
- James Miotto, 15, Trumpet
