NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. — In 1912, Juliette Gordon Low founded the Girl Scouts in Savannah, Georgia.
Today, in 2012, there are 3.2 million scouts nationwide, and countless more who have participated in the program at some point in their lives.
At Ellsworth McAfee Park on Sunday, the 30 troops in Northborough gathered to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Girl Scouts.
"This really is a scouting town," Service Unit Manager Kendra Owen said. All told, there are 300 scouts in Northborough.
