NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. — The Harvard Pilgrim Foundation awarded the Northborough Food Pantry a $2,500 grant from its Community Spirit 9/11 Mini-Grant program.

The food pantry will use the funds to buy food for needy families in Northborough and the surrounding area.

Harvard Pilgrim created the Community Spirit 9/11 Mini-Grant program to honor the men and women lost in the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001. Every year, Harvard Pilgrim employees choose organizations in the communities that deserve support.

"The Mini-Grant program is a wonderful way that we can support our colleagues to build healthier communities where they live and work," said Karen Voci, executive director of the Harvard Pilgrim Foundation. "They are the foundation’s best resource to let us know where our grants should go to make the biggest impact in our cities and towns."
