NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. — Although March 1 is typically the last day to register dogs, Northborough is waiving its $25 late fee this weekend to give residents extra time to obtain their dog licenses.

Dogs six months and older must be registered with the town annually. This is done on a January to December basis, meaning that all licenses from 2012 expired on Dec. 31, 2012.

Licenses can be obtained at the town clerk's office, by mail or online. Mailed-in forms must include the owner's name, address and phone number, as well as the dog's name, breed, age and whether the dog is spayed or neutered.

Dogs that are spayed or neutered cost $15 to register, while those that aren't cost $20.

Those with questions may contact the town clerk's office at 508-393-5001.
