NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. — Northborough held its annual tree lighting in the center of town Saturday evening.
Hosted by the Northborough Community Affairs Committee, the event has been held every year since 1968 in honor of Neil Ellsworth, the first Northborough resident to die in the Vietnam War.
As a color guard from the Vincent F. Picard American Legion Post 234 stood at attention, residents were treated to carols sung by Algonquin Regional High chorus members and, later, duets by resident Dave Murphy and Melican Middle School student Tess Herdman.
Keep checking the Northborough Daily Voice for more coverage of holiday events in the area.
