NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. — Motorists on Route 20 are advised to handle the new design of the Patty Lane entrance with caution, an update on the downtown traffic improvement project advised Tuesday.
The intersection has caused confusion among drivers heading west on Route 20 who are seeking to make a left turn on Patty Lane. A pole remains in front of the intersection. Motorists are advised to enter the road while heading east on Route 20 and making a right turn.
The town also reports that the downtown traffic improvement project is now being prepared for winter, though work remains to be done. In some cases, travel lanes have not reached their full width due to poles that have not yet been removed. These must stay until all wires are transferred to new poles, which will be done over the winter.
Any questions about the project may be directed to MassDOT resident engineer Angela Padavano at 774-292-2076.
