Obituary: Martha L. (Cheever) Bridge, 79

FRAMINGHAM, Mass. - Martha L. (Cheever) Bridge, 79, died peacefully on Thursday, June 14, 2012.

Martha is survived by her five children and their families: John Bridge and his wife Mary Ellen of Boston and their children Chuck, Erin and Sean; Kevin Bridge and his wife Maureen Bowser of Hopkinton; Martha Braverman and her husband Marc of Northborough and their children Jenna, Julianne, Matt, Caroline and Joey; Dan Bridge and his wife Christine of South Burlington, VT and their children Patrick, Timothy, Katherine and Brendan; Nancy Landroche and her husband Don of Westborough and their children Megan and Kelsey; her sister, Mary Townes of Sandwich; many nieces, nephews and close friends. She is predeceased by her loving husband of 25 years, John (Chuck) Bridge; brothers Bob and Walter and her sister Helen.

Born and raised in Belmont, Martha graduated from Belmont High and Garland Junior College. She was a 50-year resident of Framingham where she and John selflessly raised their five children with one car and one bathroom. From times in Humarock Beach to Framingham friendships to weekend memories with her Belmont girlfriends, Martha was always one to light up a room with life and laughter. She especially cherished sharing her joy, spirit and humor with her children and grandchildren who all benefitted from her love and inspiration.

Calling hours will be held Monday, June 18, 2012 from 5-8 p.m. in Hays Funeral Home, 56 Main Street, Northborough. Martha’s funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at 10 a.m. in St. Bernadette Church, 266 Main Street, Northborough. Burial will follow in St. Stephen’s Cemetery in Framingham.
