NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. — The Town of Northborough recently released an update to its downtown traffic improvement efforts.

This week, workers completed gravel and grading on sidewalks in preparation for the installation of concrete. Beginning around 7 p.m. Friday and continuing until 7 a.m. Saturday, workers will grind uneven asphalt surfaces to prepare for paving.

In addition, workers have installed some traffic signal equipment, and are in the process of installing wiring.

Beginning Monday, workers will install the concrete for sidewalks and may install the base pavement layer, depending on the weather. Work on the area of the Main Street railroad crossing is expected, but the date for the crossing's replacement is still unknown.

Call MassDOT resident engineer Angela Padavano at 774-292-2076 with any questions or concerns regarding the downtown traffic improvements.
