SHREWSBURY, Mass. — Central Massachusetts could feel a one-two punch this week with snow predicted Tuesday night followed by a winter storm at the end of the week.

The National Weather Service is predicting a chance of snow showers Tuesday night with a low of around 19 degrees. There will be a chance of snow on Wednesday, but it should be mostly clear Wednesday night.

The NWS is calling for a 30 percent chance of precipitation for Thursday and a 40 percent chance for Friday.

Shrewsbury Emergency Management Agency Weather Analyst Jim Arnold said that a “sizeable” storm could bring snow and ice Thursday night into Friday.

“There will be two bouts of flurries during the week as we work up to this system, but this could be an important storm,” said Arnold.

As of Monday afternoon, the NWS had not issued any warnings or alerts.
