MILLIS, Mass. - Evelyn E. (Oberg) Mitrano, 88, died at Leonard Morse Hospital on Oct. 19, 2012 surrounded by her loving family after a sudden illness.
She leaves a daughter Karen E. and her husband Richard Casey of Franklin; a son Allan O. and his wife Lora Johnson of NY; a daughter-in-law Joanne Johnson of NH, seven grandchildren, Christopher, Sharon, Geoffrey, Melanie, Erik, Kevin, and Brian; one great granddaughter Evelyn; a brother Warren Oberg of Northborough; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Domenic Mitrano, a son Richard K. Johnson and three brothers, Eric, George, and Ivar Oberg.
Evelyn was born in Worcester, daughter of Werner and Amanda (Erickson) Oberg. She was a very generous and loving person. She enjoyed hosting her annual Labor Day family picnic and looked forward to all family gatherings. Evelyn had a keen ability to please everyone with her cooking, from Swedish cookies to angel food cake, she loved to keep us happy. She enjoyed gardening and amazed everyone, including her doctors, with how active she was. Evelyn was loved by all who knew her and will be greatly missed.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2012 from 6 to 8 p.m. in Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln St., Worcester. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2012 at 10 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow in All Faiths Cemetery.
