NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. - Jeanette B. (Akroyd) Leroux died at Coleman House in Northborough after a long illness. Her husband Edward Leroux died in 1956.
She leaves behind a daughter, Catherine J. (LeRoux) Staniunas and her husband Daniel of Northborough; a son, William J. Leroux of Manchester, Conn.; three grandchildren, Jennifer L. Leroux of Cliffside Park, NJ, Molly and Liam Leroux of Manchester, Conn.
Born on January 31, 1932 in Springfield, she lived in Northborough for 55 years. She worked in housekeeping at Marlborough Hospital and was a stitcher at various companies in Marlborough. For 30 years, Jeanette’s passion was helping her daughter at home day care, reading books and creating art with the students. She was a member of St. Bernadette Church and a member of ASPCA for animals.
Mrs. Leroux participated in many campaigns to advocate against animal cruelty. She lived with her daughter and son-in-law for the last 14 years. Jeanette was also gifted in song and knew all the WWII songs by heart. The Leroux family extends special thanks to the staff at Coleman House for their loving care for Jeanette.
Calling hours will be held Tuesday, Oct.r 30, 2012 from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. in Hays Funeral Home, 56 Main Street, Northborough. Jeanette’s funeral Mass will follow at 10 a.m. in St. Bernadette Church, 266 Main Street, Northborough. Burial will be in Howard Street Cemetery.
