NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. - Mary (Nori) DiBuono, 99, of Northborough, died on Saturday, September 1, 2012 of complications from cancer.
She was the widow of James DiBuono with whom she was married for 62 years, until his death in 2001. She is the mother of Richard DiBuono of Alexandria, Va., Joseph DiBuono of Farmington, Conn., and Linda (DiBuono) Conrad, widow of Bernard Conrad, of Northborough. Beside her children, Mary leaves behind grandson Jeffrey DiBuono and his wife, Susan, and children Matthew and Michael of Marlborough; granddaughter Holly Conrad of Peabody; grandson Darren Conrad of Oxford and grandson William DiBuono of Albany, N.Y.
Mary was born in Framingham, Mass., to parents Arduino and Olinta (Zonghetti) Nori on December 21, 1912. Educated in Framingham public schools, she graduated from Framingham High School in 1931. Following graduation she went to work for the Telechron Company in Ashland, Mass.
In 1939 she wed James DiBuono of Marlborough, and after spending their first five years of married life in Framingham, they moved to Marlborough in 1944 where they settled and raised their family with Mary as homemaker. As her children grew to high school age, Mary went back to working in the business world, first for Woolworth's Department Store in Marlborough and later for the Raytheon Company at their Wayland Laboratories, from which she retired in 1974.
A faithful Roman Catholic, she was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church in Marlboro. She resided in Marlborough for 67 years until moving into assisted living quarters at Whitney Place in Northboro in 2011.
Her funeral will be held on Friday, Sept. 7 at 10 a.m. in the William R. Short and Son Funeral Home, 95 West Main St. Marlborough. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery Marlborough. Visiting hours at the funeral home will be held on Thursday, Sept. 6 from 4-7 p.m.
