NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. — Northborough police are investigating a stabbing that reportedly occurred Friday evening on Green Street.
Police received a 911 call from a resident of 508 Green St. at around 7:30 p.m. Friday who reported that he had been assaulted by a baseball bat-wielding man.
Upon arriving, police found one man in the garage with minor injuries. They then learned that a second man had left the scene in a vehicle prior to their arrival.
Later that evening, police received a call from the Berlin Police Department reporting that a man with a stab wound to the chest had come to the station following an alleged assault in Northborough. The man was transported to UMass Medical Center in Worcester.
Police believe that both men were knew each other and that both were involved in the assault.
Police arrested Donald F. Williams, 56, who listed his address as 240 Pearl St., Gardner, Mass. He was charged with assault, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon causing serious bodily injury.
The second man is still undergoing treatment at UMass Medical Center for his injuries. Police are currently investigating his vehicle, as well as the residence at 508 Green St. State Police Detectives assigned to the District Attorney’s office and the State Police Crime Scene Services Section are assisting in the investigation.
