NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. — The Northborough Police Department has released its log for Wednesday and Thursday morning, Sept. 19-20.
Two pedestrians were hit by a motor vehicle Wednesday on Route 9, according to police. The victims, Torrez Lumpkins and Maria Robinson, both of Providence, R.I., had been in an argument in the parking lot of the Route 9 Motel 6, police said, when Robinson ran across Route 9. Lumpkins chased after her, police said, and the two were crossing back across an unlit portion of the road when Peter Levine, of Sharon, struck them with his 2010 Toyota Camry. Levine immediately stopped and reported the incident, police said.
Both victims were taken to the UMass Memorial Medical Center University Campus by Northborough Fire Ambulance. Police said neither speed nor alcohol were factor.
