NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. — State Sen. Harriette Chandler (D-Worcester) was promoted to assistant majority leader on Thursday. Previously, Chandler served as Senate majority whip.
“It is truly an honor to serve as the new assistant majority leader of the Senate,” said Chandler. “I am grateful and humbled by the Senate president’s confidence in my ability to help her move Massachusetts forward.”
The former assistant majority leader, state Sen. Jack Hart (D-Boston), recently resigned to join Boston law firm Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough.
