Finalists Chosen In Search For Northborough Principal

NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. — Two finalists have been selected in the search for a principal of Northborough's Peaslee Elementary School, Superintendent Charles Gobron announced Friday.

They are Nicholas Botelho, principal at Moreau Hall Elementary School in Easton, Mass., and Jill Barnhardt, Ed.D., administrator of curriculum and instruction for the Whitman-Hanson Regional District.

Botelho graduated from Framingham State University and received his master's degree from Cambridge College. He completed his principal certification program through Endicott College. Prior to his position in Easton, Botelho taught at the Charlottee A. Dunning Elementary School in Framingham for 10 years. He spent five of those years as Head Teacher.

Barnhardt graduated from Bridgewater State University abd received a master's in education, special education and administration as well as a certificate of advanced graduate studies in reading. She earned her doctorate in leadership in schooling at the University of Massachusetts Lowell. Barnhardt spent 12 years as an elementary principal in Smithfield, R.I. 

Both candidates will spend a day at Peaslee after February vacation to meet with students, parents, teachers and administrators. Botelho will visit on Feb. 27, Barnhardt on Feb. 28.

Gobron said that a new principal will be named in March. The job is being held by Interim Principal Mary Ryan, who took over this year after the departure of former Principal Scott Bazydlo.
