NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. — Take a look at how Algonquin Regional High School's varsity sports teams have done this week.
Basketball (Boys: 9-1; Girls: 9-1): The boys saw their nine-game winning streak end this week. Though they beat Leominster Tuesday, 72-44, they lost to Wachusett, 58-49, Friday. The girls beat Leominster Tuesday, 51-25. Tomahawk Amanda Murphy scored a game-high 19 points. They beat Wachusett, 47-42, Friday.
Ice Hockey (Boys: 4-3-1; Girls: 2-4): The boys lost to Groton-Dunstable, 5-0, Saturday.
Swimming (11-0): The swim team extended their winning streak to 11 games this week, beating Leominster, 84-78, Tuesday.
Gymnastics (8-1): The gymnastics team picked up two wins this week. They beat Westborough, 140.550-138.200, Thursday and Wachusett, 142.600-119.650, Saturday.
