Algonquin Sports Roundup: Hockey Suffers More Losses

NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. — Here's a quick look at how Algonquin varsity sports teams did during the week of Jan. 26-31.

Basketball (Boys: 13-1, Girls: 10-3): The boys' and girls' teams both beat Shrewsbury Jan. 29. The boys won, 59-41. The girls won, 53-42.

Ice Hockey (Boys: 4-6-2, Girls: 2-7-1): The boys lost to Shrewsbury, 8-4, Jan. 26. Jack Mullin scored twice for Algonquin. They lost to Marlborough, 5-2, Jan. 30. The girls lost Jan. 26 to Shrewsbury, 5-2.

Wrestling (5-3): Algonquin beat Marlborough, 42-21, Jan. 30.

Girls' Gymnastics (11-1): Algonquin beat Shrewsbury Jan. 26 in a close match, 139.5-139.200. The Tomahawks beat Medfield Jan. 29, 143.75-138.350.
