NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. — For the first time in its history, the Algonquin Youth Wrestling Team took first place at the Central Mass. Youth Wrestling League Tournament on Jan. 26.
The young wrestlers beat teams from Athol, Fitchburg, Marlborough, Littleton, Milford and Quabbin.
Individual winners were as follows:

Third Place

Wrestlers in grades 5-8 regularly compete in MYWA sectionals and state meets. Sectional individual placements will be held today in Wayland. Qualifiers will advance to the state championship meet held at Algonquin on Feb. 17.
Students in grades 4-8 who wish to wrestle can now register for the Algonquin Spring Youth Wrestling Clinic held from March 5 to April 11. To register, visit the ARHS Wrestling website.
