Algonquin Swimmer Second In Heat, 41st Overall At Olympics

NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. — Dorian McMenemy, a rising sophomore at Algonquin Regional High School who is swimming for her mother's native Dominican Republic in the 2012 London Olympics, finished the first round of the 100-meter butterfly with a time of 1:05.78, according to the results posted on NBC's Olympics page.

The 15-year-old swimmer placed second in her heat and 41st overall. She did not qualify for the semi-final round scheduled for this afternoon.

The women's races began at 5:34 a.m. this morning, Eastern Daylight Time. Video of the races can be found on the NBC Olympics page.
