NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. — Carolyn Mukai, of Northborough, is an All-West Region first-team selection for the second straight year. The Whittier College junior was named to the team by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association.
In addition, Mukai earned First Team honors from the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, making her a three-time First Team All-SCIAC honoree.
This season, Mukai was one of the top all-around lacrosse players as she accumulated a team-high 52 goals on 103 shots for a 51 percent shot percentage, 29 assists, 34 caused turnovers, 54 ground balls and 88 draw controls while playing in and starting 16 games.
In three seasons with the Whittier College Poets, Mukai has combined for 173 goals and 85 assists for 258 points.
She was also named to the spring 2012 Dean's List. Undergraduate student are awarded Dean's List honors by earning a 3.70 grade point average while completing a full-time course load of at least 12 units in the fall and spring terms.
