WORCESTER, Mass. - Red and white flooded Alumni Field at WPI on Saturday night, but it wasn't the Engineers football squad taking the field. The Park Ave. location was the battlegrounds for Division I football action between St. John's and Fitchburg.

A flawless first half by the Pioneers set the foundation for a stellar 33-22 victory over the Red Raiders, snapping St. John's three-game losing streak.

"We've been plugging away over the last couple of weeks, we've seen some good things, and we're starting to put them together," said St. John's head coach John Andreoli. "This is the time of year that you need to start playing like that."
