Norwalk Hospital Holding Smoking Cessation Program NORWALK, Conn. -- Norwalk Hospital is offering a free smoking cessation course for area residents beginning on Thursday, April 14, at 6 p.m. in the third floor respiratory room of the hospital’s Section of Pulmonary Medicine. The department offers the program twice a year as a service to the community. The course, which is taught by Beverly Jacoby, a registered respiratory therapist at the hospital, consists of six weekly sessions that provide smokers with both social support and a plan of action in their effort to quit. Tony Winner Joanna Gleason Visits 'Into The Woods' Cast At New Canaan High NEW CANAAN, Conn. -- Actress Joanna Gleason visited the New Canaan High School cast and crew of “Into The Woods” for a workshop and question and answer session last week. Gleason won the 1988 Tony Award for Best Actress in a Musical for her role as the Baker’s Wife in the Broadway production of the show. The play is based on the book by James Lapine and musical score by Stephen Sondheim. The NCHS performances will take place March 17, 18 and 19 at 7 p.m. in the high school’s auditorium.
