Peekskill High School Band Performs At Veterans Day Ceremony

BBQ Night Comes to Katonah Firehouse
KATONAH, N.Y. -- The Katonah Fire Department will be holding a BBQ Night from 4:30 - 8 p.m. Saturday at the firehouse at 65 Bedford Road.Included on the menu are pulled pork, barbecue beef and chicken, macaroni and cheese, soda and ice cream. Port Chester's Putnam Avenue Closed For Construction
PORT CHESTER, N.Y. -- A long-term construction project will force the partial closure of eastbound Putnam Avenue (Route 982C) between Main Street (Route 1) and Riverdale Avenue starting Friday, according to the New York State Department of Transportation (DOT).The project, which will force one lane of the roadway to close until Dec. 23 (weather permitting), and will require police control of traffic in the area, according to the DOT. Philipstown Man Charged After Fight With Son, 20, Cops Say
PHILIPSTOWN, N.Y. -- A 55-year-old Philipstown man is facing misdemeanor charges after he was arrested during a fight with his son, according to the Putnam County Sheriff's Office. David G. Cashman, of the Continental Village section of town, was taken into custody about 8 a.m. Friday, Nov. 6, according to the sheriff's office. A sheriff's deputy arrived to the Cashman home on reports of a domestic dispute and found that the 55-year-old had assaulted his 20-year-old son. Board of Finance Approves Expansion, Renovation of Saxe Middle School
NEW CANAAN, Conn. -- The New Canaan Board of Finance voted Tuesday to approve an expansion and renovation of the Saxe Middle School campus, according to NCadvertiser.com. The unanimous vote provides the project with $18.6 million to renovate the 58-year-old auditorium and provide a net gain of 12 classrooms, according to the report. The plan now goes to the New Canaan Town Council on Nov. 19, the Advertiser said. The project would go to bid in January with construction to start in June, according to the report. Kingston Dentist Facing Murder Charge Released on $1M Bail
KINGSTON, N.Y. -- An Ulster County judge Tuesday ordered a Kingston dentist accused of second-degree murder be released on $1 million bail, according to Time Warner Cable News. Gilberto Nunez, who is accused of forcing Thomas Kolman, 44, of Saugerties, to take the substance that killed him in November 2011, according to media reports. Yorktown Man Faces Felony DWI Charge
YORKTOWN, N.Y. -- A 47-year-old Yorktown man was arrested early Sunday after police accused him of felony drunken driving. Viktor Curanovic, of 106 Stonewall Court, was taken into custody about 12:10 a.m. near the intersection of Route 118 and Underhill Avenue, according to Yorktown police.
