Westport Weston Family YMCA Buys Red Barn Restaurant Property
WESTPORT, Conn. -- The Westport Weston Family YMCA has purchased the Red Barn Restaurant property on Wilton Road, YMCA leaders said Monday. The restaurant, a Westport landmark for more than 50 years, closed its doors in July. The restaurant had been operated by the Nistico family since they restored the property in 1983. 'Miracle On 34th Street' Coming to Putnam Libraries This Holiday Season
PUTNAM COUNTY, N.Y. -- The Brewster Theater Company's Armchair Actors will be performing several readings of the Christmas classic "Miracle on 34th Street" this holiday season.The performances are scheduled for 2 p.m. on Dec. 6 at the Mahopac Library, 668 Route Six, Mahopac; and 7 p.m. Dec. 15 at the Brewster Library, 79 Main St., Brewster. Hendrick Hudson Volleyball Wins Sectional Championship
CORTLANDT, N.Y. -- Hendrick Hudson Volleyball won the Section 1 Class B Championship on Saturday, downing the Ardsley team in straight sets at Walter Panas High SchoolHendrick Hudson now moves on to regional competition against either the Section 4 or Section 9 championship team. The winner of that game, scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 14, at John Jay Cross River High School in Cross River, will move on to the New York State Final Four. The Hendrick Hudson varsity volleyball team has won 13 section titles over the past 15 seasons.

'Truther' Arrested After Disrupting Stratford Race For Sandy Hook Teacher
STRATFORD, Conn. -- A man who denies that the Sandy Hook school shootings occurred was arrested after disrupting a road race in Stratford held in honor of one of the victims, according to the Connecticut Post. Matthew Mills, a self-proclaimed "truther," was charged with interfering with police and second-degree breach of peace after disrupting the Vicki Soto 5K Race on Saturday, the Post reported. PEEKSKILL, N.Y. -- The city's school district had a lockdown drill Monday in the Peekskill High School and middle school buildings, according to a post on the district's Facebook post. TD Banks in Poughkeepsie To Merge
POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- TD Bank has confirmed two of its branches in Poughkeepsie will be merging, according to the Poughkeepsie Journal. According to the report, the bank branch at 21 Market St. will close Jan. 29.
