Speeding Pennsylvania Driver, 29, Charged Crash That Killed NJ Grandmother A Pennsylvania man has been charged in connection with a fatal high-speed crash in South Jersey, authorities said. Theresa Karbach, 69, of Cherry Hill, died as a result of injuries from the crash in Lawnside on May 13 at about 9:30 p.m., according to Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. MacAulay. Anwar Parham, 29, of North Wales, PA, was charged with death by auto, driving with a suspended license and assault by auto, MacAulay said. Man Rapes Girl Under 15 In Northern Virginia, Police Say A 36-year-old man is accused of raping a girl under 15 years old in northern Virginia, police said. Dennis William Caballero Mejia, of Woodbridge, was at a house on Gloucester Court with the victim on May 21 when he prevented the girl from leaving a room and sexually assaulted her, Prince William County police said. The girl was able to separate herself from Mejia and contact police. Mejia was charged with rape and abduction and held without bond, police said. 2.9 Magnitude Earthquake Rattles Tewksbury New Jersey was rattled by a small earthquake on Friday morning, May 24, the USGS reports. It happened at 3:50 a.m. in Tewksbury, approximately 6 kilometers southwest of Gladstone, the USGS says. The Ramapo Fault System, which runs through NY, PA, NJ, MD, and VA, has clearly been a hot spot.  Countless quakes and aftershocks have developed along the system since the 4.8-magnitude earthquake on April 5.

Driver Arrested In Deadly Fairfax County Crash, Police Say A driver was placed under arrest following a fatal pedestrian crash in Fairfax County overnight, police said. The crash happened at North Kings Highway and Huntington Park Drive in Huntington, county police said just before 1:45 a.m. Friday, May 24. The pedestrian, an adult male, was declared deceased at the scene. The driver of the striking vehicle remained at the scene and was later taken into custody, authorities said. No further information was provided.
