Sterling Bank Robbery Suspect Caught Weeks After Armed Heist, Sheriff Says
A months-long manhunt has ended in Virginia after a suspect accused of robbing a Sterling bank at gunpoint was arrested, the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office announced.
David Martinez Peralta, 24, of Sterling, was taken into custody on Thursday morning, July 10, following a joint investigation by the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) and Fairfax County Police Department.
He is accused of carrying out an armed robbery on May 21 at a bank in Sterling, the LCSO said.

A New York City man was arrested Thursday afternoon, July 10, after Ridgewood detectives spotted him riding a stolen motorcycle with no license plate behind a school, authorities said.
Angel Rodriguez, 23, was stopped by three members of Ridgewood Police Department’s detective bureau on East Ridgewood Avenue, according to Capt. Glenn Ender.
Rodriguez was arrested behind the Somerville School on South Pleasant Avenue, after officers found that the motorcycle had been reported stolen out of Staten Island, Ender said.

A convicted sex offender from Fort Lee who earlier this year was charged with sexually assaulting a missing teen from New York City, has been hit with new offenses after he contacted the victim and a co-defendant, authorities said on Thursday, July 10.
Marc Piovanetti, 58, of Fort Lee, is accused of violating a court order by contacting the victim and a co-defendant between April and May 2025, two months after he was jailed on the original charges, according to Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella.

Vincent De Porres Young II, 38, of Rockville, was discovered with gunshot wounds on the morning of Saturday, June 14, inside an apartment in the 600 block of Blandford Street, according to the Montgomery County Department of Police.

A man intentionally caused a propane-fueled explosion that destroyed his Dauphin County home, Pennsylvania State Police announced in a release issued Wednesday, July 9.
John Esh, 32, used vice grips to disconnect a propane line from his hot water heater, turned on a stove burner, and fled the home on the 500 block of Picnic Road in Lykens Township at 3:26 a.m. on Monday, July 7, according to PSP Lykens.
Moments later, the house exploded and was completely destroyed. The property was owned by JZE Non-Profit Trust of Lykens, troopers said.

A 21-year-old gunman is facing murder charges after allegedly shooting and killing another young man during a dispute in Landover, police said.
Damarion Jones, of Largo, was arrested and charged in connection with the July 6 fatal shooting of J’len Livingston, 21, of Clinton, according to the Prince George’s County Police Department.
