A 34-year-old tenant died of suicide in his East Rutherford apartment before dawn Wednesday, police reported. Officers who responded to the 3:16 a.m. May 15 call were directed to the second floor of the Mozart Street home, Police Capt. Jeff Yannacone said. The construction worker killed in a Kenilworth trench accident earlier this month has been identified as a 29-year-old former Rutgers University athlete. Corey Greg Stasenko, of Cranford, was killed on Monday, May 6, during a project on Monroe Street, Daily Voice has learned. ICE agents placed a detainer on an Ecuadorian national living in Hackensack who local authorities said felt up a youngster during a sleepover at a family member’s home. Diego G. Civilians teamed up with police to rescue a teenage girl who was struck and pinned beneath a vehicle Tuesday in North Bergen's Racetrack neighborhood, witnesses said. The victim, believed to be 15, was struck near a bus stop at the corner of Palisade Plaza and Woodcliff Avenue outside James J. Braddock Park shortly before 4:30 p.m. May 14, they said.
