Tornado Watch Issued In PA, NJ, Delaware As 75 MPH Winds Blow Across Region
A tornado watch has been issued across a large portion of the Mid-Atlantic as potentially dangerous storms threaten the region Thursday afternoon and evening.
The watch is in effect until 10 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 20, across parts of Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, DC, according to the National Weather Service.
The watch area includes the Philadelphia region and stretches south through Baltimore, Washington, DC, and much of the Eastern Shore, as shown on the National Weather Service map.

A contractor is accused of taking nearly $180,000 from homeowners for renovation projects that were never started or left unfinished, police announced on Thursday, Aug. 20.
Shawn Hagan, 46, of Philadelphia, owner of Hagan Home Concepts, was charged following a multi-jurisdictional investigation by Bensalem and Middletown township police, according to the release.
The investigation involved three homeowners who reported paying Hagan a combined $178,291 for projects estimated to cost more than $300,000, police said.
