A staff member at a Dutchess County high school has been placed on administrative leave following allegations of inappropriate conduct, school district and law enforcement officials confirmed.

A Virginia Catholic school teacher is behind bars after being arrested on multiple child porn and solicitation charges, authorities announced.
Nicolas Martin Zimmerman, 35, of Chantilly, was arrested on April 7 and is facing multiple felony charges, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO).
Zimmerman, a former teacher at St. Veronica’s Catholic School in Chantilly, taught at the school from August 2015 through February 2025, officials said on Wednesday, May 14.

A Connecticut high school softball coach has turned himself in to police on Friday, May 9, after investigators accused him of sexually assaulting multiple students at school.
Cary Nadel, 70, of Wilton, was charged with risk of injury to a minor and four counts of fourth-degree sexual assault, according to Norwalk police.
Nadel, who coached at Norwalk High School, was accused on April 1 of inappropriate behavior and unwanted touching of students on campus, police said.

Swatting Threat Triggers Emergency Response At Trinity-Pawling School
A false phone threat forced a lockdown at a Dutchess County boarding school, prompting a rapid response from police and school officials.
The incident happened around 1:25 p.m. on Wednesday, May 7, when the Trinity-Pawling School in Pawling received a threatening phone call shortly after being notified of a similar threat by the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office, Head of School William Taylor said.
Within minutes, the campus was placed under protective protocols, and all students, staff, faculty, and family members were secured safely, according to Taylor.
