Fatal Shooting: Police ID 39-Year-Old Springfield Man Killed Over Weekend In Western Mass The Hampden County District Attorney's Office has released the identity of one of the two people shot and killed over the weekend in Springfield. Felipe Dejesus, 39, of Springfield, was shot on the 100 block of Spring Street around 7:45 p.m. on Saturday, June 24., authorities said. Police responded to a ShotSpotter activation and found Dejesus bleeding out from a bullet wound. Responders rushed him to Baystate Medical Center, but doctors could not save his life. Driver Injured After Car Veers Off I-91, Crashes In Western Mass A driver in South Deerfield was rushed to an area hospital after their car careened off of I-91 and crashed, authorities said. The single-vehicle crash happened around 7 p.m. on Monday, June 26, just south of Exit 36, South Deerfield Fire District officials said. The driver suffered non-life-threatening injuries, but the car was completely totaled. Police are still investigating the cause of the crash.

(Update) Police ID Man Who Drowned While Fishing In Haverhill River The body of a missing canoer who was pulled from the Merrimack River this weekend has been identified, according to authorities. Michael Ventura, of Apple Street in Haverhill, was fishing in the Merrimack River about 75 feet from the shore of 44 Margin Street on Sunday, June 24, the Essex County District Attorney said. Triple Murder: 3 Elderly Residents Found Stabbed To Death In Newton The Middlesex District Attorney is asking residents in Newton to be on alert after three "elderly" residents were found murdered in a home on Broadway Street on Sunday morning, June 25, authorities said. Trooper In Serious Condition After Car Crashed Into Him In Milton A Massachusetts State Trooper surveying a wreck in Milton early Sunday morning, June 25, was hit by a car on Route 93, authorities said.
