'Bright Beginnings Academy' Opens North Arlington Location NORTH ARLINGTON, N.J. -- Bright Beginnings Academy III daycare and learning center held its grand opening ribbon cutting on Saturday, Feb. 13.This is the third location for the creative learning center, which is family-owned and operated, and was started by Zobeida and Germanico Santana. Cliffside Park Cheerleaders Take Home National Title CLIFFSIDE PARK, N.J. -- The Cliffside Park Recreation Competitive Cheerleading team took home Grand National Champions honors at a competition in Pennsylvania on Saturday, Feb. 20. The squad placed first in their division and also tallied the highest score of the session to win the title.  It marks the second consecutive year The Raiders Elite won, securing a paid bid to the U.S. Finals in Virginia Beach this spring.

Allendale Firefighters Prepare For Fast Response ALLENDALE, N.J. -- Allendale Volunteer Fire Department members continued practicing donning and doffing all of their personal protective equivalent during a drill recently. The goal is to have volunteers get into their gear in under a minute.  The drill also allows responders to inspect their equipment and ensure they are familiar with each piece of their gear.

Wallington's Mayor Expresses Concerns Over Flooding WALLINGTON, N.J. -- Wallington Mayor Mark Tomko expressed concerns about flooding that took place in town and the apparent lack of help by federal agencies during a meeting on Jan. 28, according to NorthJersey.com. Tomko said he feels much of the flooding issues are the result of marshland development that pushes water into the river as well as redirecting of the Passaic River in the 1960s to accommodate construction of Route 21, NorthJersey.com reported.  Tomko said one possible solution would be to dredge the river, NorthJersey.com said.  Click here to read the NorthJersey.com article.
