Leonia Library Has Sewing Class For Teens LEONIA, N.J. -- The Leonia Library will host sewing classes for teens beginnig Wednesday, Feb. 17. Attendees will learn how to use sewing machine and will make a book mark and felt wallet. Registration is open for both Wednesday (Feb. 17 and Feb. 24) and Thursday (Feb. 18 and Feb. 25). McKenzie School Students Tour East Rutherford Police Headquarters EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Students from the McKenzie School's ESL department visited the East Rutherford Police Dpeartment recently. First and second graders got the opportunity to see the inner workings of the station including the municipal courtroom, jail cells, offices, and front desk.

Haledon Student Selected For Washington, D.C. Trip HALEDON, N.J. -- Faith DeRuiter, a student at Manchester Regional High School has been selected to represent Prospect Park, as a National Youth Correspondent to the 2016 Washington Journalism and Media Conference at George Mason University.DeRuiter was chosen based on academic accomplishments and a demonstrated interest and excellence in journalism and media studies. She joins a select group of students from all over the country for an intensive study of journalism and media.

Emerson Students Receive Columbia Press Association Scholastic Award EMERSON, N.J. -- Emerson Junior-Senior High School students were honored with the Columbia Scholastic Press Association's Gold Circle Award. Gary Parzych, Jack DePalma and Nicholas Dicostanzo were among those honored. Student journalists working on these print or electronic media chose from 42 yearbook categories and 50 digital media categories for individual or staff entries. Judges cited a total of 506 winners for either First, Second or Third Place out of 4,232 entries.

Lodi School Uses Paint For Fundraiser LODI, N.J. --Lodi's Immaculate Conception High School will host a paint night fundraiser Saturday, March 19.
