New Fairfield Man Charged With Manslaughter In Fatal Crash On Route 37 NEW FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- A New Fairfield man was charged with manslaughter on Monday in connection to a fatal accident nearly a year ago on Route 37 in town, according to Connecticut Sate Police. Robert Francis Martini, 42, was traveling south on Route 37 near Pine Hill Road in New Fairfield on March 28, 2015, when his Mercedes S430 drove off onto the shoulder, struck a rock, and collided with a northbound Honda Civic driven by Jody A. West Milford Store Sells $50,000 Lottery Ticket WEST MILFORD, N.J. -- Nobody managed to strike it rich with the Powerball jackpot on Saturday, but 29 people in the Garden State managed to win $50,000, including one person from West Milford. The "winning" ticket, which matched four white balls and the Powerball, was sold at the Shop Rite on Marshall Hill Road. With no winner, the jackpot has soared to $1.4 billion, with an estimated cash value of $868 million, the largest purse in lottery history. The next drawing will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 13 at 11 p.m.

Bridgeport Man Charged With Firing Shots On Greenwich Ave. STAMFORD, Conn. -- A convicted felon from Bridgeport was arrested for allegedly firing off five shots on Greenwich Avenue on Monday, according to the Stamford Advocate. Troy Baker, 36, was questioned by police shortly after reports of the gunshots were made. When authorities attempted to stop Baker, he attempted to flee and reportedly dropped a gun over the Purple Bridge, The Stamford advocate reported. Patterson Woman Shattered Windows Near Sleeping Children, Sheriff Says PATTERSON, N.Y. -- A Patterson woman is facing multiple charges after shattering a residential window that was in the vicinity of two sleeping children on Jan. 1, according to the Putnam County Sheriff's Department. Andrea G. Soto, 24, reportedly went to the residence in Southeast after being involved in a verbal altercation on the phone with an adult at the home earlier in the evening, police said. Man, 26, Driving 97 MPH On I-87 Charged With DWI, Police Say YONKERS, N.Y. -- A Yonkers man was charged with driving while intoxicated on Interstate 87 after Troopers spotted him traveling at 97 mph early Tuesday morning, according to New York State Police. Daniel P. Gross, 26, lead troopers on a short pursuit before losing control and getting stuck in the median. Gross' blood alcohol content was determined to be .20 percent, more than twice the legal limit, police said. Former Stratford Aide Charged With Having Sexual Relations With Minors STRATFORD, Conn. -- A former aide at Stratford's Wooster Middle School is facing multiple charges for allegedly having sexual relations with two minors in a Trumbull hotel, according to the Trumbull Times. Kyle Damato-Kushel, 46, turned herself into authorities on Monday after a warrant was issued in connection to a complaint of sexual assault with a 15-year-old and a 16-year-old boy at the Trumbull Marriott, the Trumbull Times reported.
