Man Charged After Being Found With Gun Outside South Floral Beach Home, Police Say A man was arrested outside of his Long Island home after authorities said he was found in possession of a firearm. Officers received an alert about a person with a gun traveling to his home on Roquette Avenue in South Floral Park at 5:45 p.m. on Monday, July 25, according to the Nassau County Police Department. Mosquitoes In Darien Test Positive For West Nile Virus Mosquitoes trapped in four Connecticut communities have tested positive for West Nile virus, state officials announced. The State of Connecticut Mosquito Management Program reported that some of the positive mosquitoes were found in three Fairfield County communities: Stamford, Darien, and Fairfield. Crews Extinguish Blaze At Westport Residence Firefighters worked overnight to extinguish a blaze that broke out at a Fairfield County home. Crews responded to a deck fire at a home on Island Way in Westport at about 1:40 a.m. on Monday, July 25, according to the Town of Westport Fire Department.
