Officials are advising motorists in the area about a planned ramp closure from I-84 to the Taconic State Parkway. Man Found Guilty Of Murdering 21-Year-Old In Mount Vernon A 39-year-old man from Westchester County was found guilty of murder in the fatal shooting of a 21-year-old. Negus Kirton, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty on Friday, July 1, of second-degree murder and second-degree criminal possession of a weapon after a weeklong trial, according to Westchester County District Attorney Miriam Rocah. Kirton was charged in the May 5, 2020, shooting of 21-year-old Michael Toro, of Mount Vernon, Rocah said. Syosset Man Sentenced For Striking Man, 3-Year-Old Girl During DWI Crash A 37-year-old Long Island man was sentenced to years in prison for driving while intoxicated at more than three times the legal limit and striking a man and a 3-year-old girl. Varun Datt, of Syosset, was sentenced to three to nine years in prison, according to an announcement from Nassau County District Attorney Anne Donnell. Covid-19: CT Cancer Patient Has Been Infected With Virus At Least 471 Days, Case Study Says A Connecticut resident experienced a chronic COVID-19 infection for at least 471 days, researchers reported. Researchers from Yale University found that a patient, who is diagnosed with lymphoma, has been testing positive for the virus for at least 471 days and that the virus rapidly mutated during their infection, according to the Daily Mail. Tuckahoe Restaurant Closes After 18-Year Run A longtime Westchester County restaurant has permanently closed. The Quarry in Tuckahoe served its last meal on Tuesday, June 28, the owners said. The eatery was located at 106 Main St. The owners said just days earlier that they were sad to announce the closure after an 18-year run but grateful for the years of happy memories. 68-Year-Old CT Man Dies After Crash Involving Car, Motorcycle A 68-year-old Connecticut man died at the hospital after suffering severe injuries in a two-vehicle crash in Massachusetts. Woman Accused Of Driving While Intoxicated In Medford With Three Children In Vehicle A 37-year-old Long Island woman is facing charges after authorities said she drove while intoxicated with her three children in the vehicle. Authorities arrested Lydiana Soto Martinez, of Medford, at 2:50 a.m. on Sunday, July 3, according to the Suffolk County Sheriff's Office.
