Two Killed In Connecticut Crash Police are searching for witnesses after two people were killed in a crash in Connecticut. The crash happened at about 7:50 p.m. on Monday, May 30, on Route 32 near Meeting House Hill Road in the New London County town of Franklin, according to Connecticut State Police. A 2010 Honda Accord EX-L was traveling north on Route 32 when it failed to maintain its lane and traveled into the southbound lane, striking a southbound 2017 Lexus NX2, police said.  The driver of the Honda, identified as 24-year-old Jullian Raul Parrilla, of Windham, was pronounced dead at the hospital, police said. …

Movie Starring Julia Roberts Films In Katonah A new Netflix movie that stars Julia Roberts had a days-long shoot at a location in Northern Westchester County. A three-day shoot for "Leave the World Behind" took place at a location on Todd Road near the Katonah-Lewisboro border, according to Lewisboro Town Clerk Janet Donohue. Filming took place from Tuesday, March 17, through Thursday, March 19, Donohue said.  The film is directed by Sam Esmail and also stars Mahershala Ali and Ethan Hawk. According to Deadline, the film is a thriller based on Rumaan Alam's novel by the same name.

Person Fatally Struck By Metro-North Train An investigation is underway after an individual was fatally struck by a train in the Hudson Valley over the weekend. A person was hit by a northbound Metro-North train in Dutchess County between New Hamburg and Poughkeepsie at 9:45 a.m. on Sunday, May 29, according to representatives from the Metropolitan Transportation Authority. The incident happened in Bethpage at 8:35 p.m. on Monday, May 30, according to the Nassau County Police Department. NCPD said the man was crossing the street on Hempstead Turnpike at Stewart Avenue when a 2021 Audi four-door sedan struck him. AOG For Change, an LLC based in the Albany County hamlet of Delmar, claimed a top prize in the lottery's Set for Life scratch-off game, NY Lottery announced on Tuesday, May 24.  The group opted to receive the prize as a single, lump-sum payment of $2,680,079 after required withholdings, the lottery said.
