Table Tennis Facility Opens In Fairfield County A new 6,000-square-foot table tennis facility is now in business in Fairfield County. CRUSH Table Tennis opened at 255 Field Point Road in downtown Greenwich, representatives announced. Company Recalls Sliced Bread Products A company has recalled some of its sliced bread products because they contain an undeclared allergen. Calise & Sons Bakery, Inc. reported that its Italian Scala Bread products produced on Nov. 23 contain sesame seeds, and they were packaged in a bag that says "Golden Flax Seed Scala Bread." The sesame seeds were not declared on the packaging. The company said 689 of the products were distributed to markets in Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Hampshire and Rhode Island. Trooper Hospitalized After Box Truck Crashes Into Cruiser In Westchester An investigation is underway after a Freightliner box truck driven by a Dutchess County resident struck a New York State Police car in Westchester County, injuring a state trooper. Digital Currency Group To Relocate HQ To Fairfield County, Creating 300 Jobs Digital Currency Group is set to relocate its headquarters from New York to Connecticut, creating more than 300 new jobs in the next five years. Gov. Ned Lamont made the announcement on Monday, Nov. 29, saying the global investment company will relocate from New York City to Stamford. 35-Year-Old Man Fatally Struck By Bus On Long Island Police are investigating after a 35-year-old man was fatally struck by a bus on Long Island. The crash happened in Hempstead at about 11 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 29, according to the Nassau County Police Department. NCPD said a man was running south on Main Street when he was struck by a NICE bus that was westbound on West Columbia Street. The man suffered serious injuries, and he was taken to a hospital for treatment, police said. He was pronounced deceased at the hospital, NCPD reported. No other injuries were reported, police said. Maple Syrup Shortage Prompts Canada To Tap Into Half Of Its Strategic Reserve Maple syrup producers in Canada are in a sticky situation, as a shortage has forced them to use a significant portion of their strategic reserve. Quebec Maple Syrup Producers has used almost 50 million pounds of syrup from its reserve, according to a report from Bloomberg. That accounts for nearly half of the reserve, the news outlet reported. Three Women Arrested In Larceny At Long Island Ralph Lauren Store, Police Say Three women were arrested following an investigation into a larceny at a Long Island store. The Riverhead Town Police Department reported that officers received a report of a larceny at Polo Ralph Lauren at about 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 28.
