Two warrants were issued for the arrest of Deven Hotaling, who is from the Columbia County village of Philmont, after he failed to appear for court dates, State Police reported on Monday, Oct. 4. Hate Crime Investigation: Scarecrow Found Hanging By Noose At Senior Center In Suffolk A hate crime investigation is underway after a scarecrow was found hanging by a noose at a Long Island senior center. The Suffolk County Police Department said the incident took place at the North Amityville Senior Center sometime between 4:40 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 1, and about noon on Monday, Oct. 4. The scarecrow was found hanging from a pergola in the rear of the property, located at 48 Cedar Road, police reported.
