Authorities Ask For Help Identifying Man Found Dead In Wooden Chest In Westchester Authorities in Westchester County are asking the public for help identifying a man whose body was found in a wooden chest on the side of the Saw Mill River Parkway more than four decades ago. The man's body was discovered in Hastings-on-Hudson at 10:15 a.m. on April 23, 1978, by a driver traveling north on the parkway, according to the Westchester County District Attorney's Office. Police Searching For Man Accused Of Stealing Tools Worth $400 From Suffolk County Store Authorities are asking the public for help identifying and locating a man accused of stealing merchandise worth nearly $400 from a Suffolk County store. The Suffolk County Police Department said a man entered the Lowe's located at 100 Express Drive North in Commack shortly after 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 3. SCPD said he stole a Dewalt biscuit joiner and Bosch hammer drill. He then fled the scene in a sedan. Authorities are offering a cash reward for information that leads to an arrest. Man Dies After Being Struck By Car While Crossing Nassau County Street A 62-year-old man has died from his injuries after he was hit by a car on Long Island.  The Nassau County Police Department said the Elmont man was pronounced dead at a hospital on Sunday, Aug. 15. NCPD said the crash happened at 11:45 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 13 in Valley Stream.
