Longtime Highway Supervisor, Business Owner In Northern Westchester Dies Lifelong Northern Westchester County resident and longtime highway supervisor Drew Allan Outhouse died on Sunday, July 11, at the age of 73. Outhouse lived in North Salem and was a graduate of North Salem High School, according to his obituary. He worked as the highway superintendent for the Town of North Salem for 30 years, and he retired in 2009. Additionally, for more than 46 years, he was a member of the Croton Falls Fire Department. One Killed In Four-Vehicle Suffolk County Crash Police are investigating after a 75-year-old driver died in a four-vehicle crash on Long Island. New York State Police said the crash happened around 3:15 p.m. Monday, July 12 in Suffolk County, on the Southern State Parkway, east of Exit 38 in the Town of Babylon. A Jeep Grand Cherokee and a Range Rover were driving east erratically, and both vehicles attempted to pass between two other vehicles, a Toyota Prius and a Mitsubishi Outlander, which caused the crash, according to state police. Covid-19: New York State To Close Mass Vaccination Site At Jones Beach Four of New York's mass vaccination sites, including the Jones Beach site, will cease operations later this month. The Jones Beach site, along with sites at The Conference and Event Center Niagara Falls, Plattsburgh International Airport, SUNY Polytechnic Institute — Utica, will cease operations after Monday, July 19, the state announced. Four Injured In Two-Vehicle Northern Westchester Crash, Police Say Four people suffered injuries in a crash in Northern Westchester County. A car and van were involved in the crash at around 1:50 p.m. Monday, July 12 on Saw Mill River Road in Mount Pleasant, according to Mount Pleasant Police. There were two occupants of each vehicle, police confirmed. The Hawthorne Fire Department also responded to assist at the scene to help get the door of one of the vehicles open, said police. Police said the crash caused a backup on Route 9A, and the road was partially shut down for about 45 minutes.

Months-Long Water Restriction Measures Take Effect In Parts Of Northern Westchester A months-long effort to conserve water in parts of Westchester County is now in effect. Northern Westchester Joint Water Works has asked customers to restrict water usage from Monday, July 12 through Tuesday, Oct. 12.
