Burglars Who Stole 6 Handguns From Fairfax County Gun Store At Large
Authorities in Fairfax County are seeking the two men who broke into a gun store and stole six handguns. The incident happened just before 2 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 29, at H&F Arms in Hybla Valley on Richmond Highway, county police said. Security footage captured two masked men break into the business through the front door. They took six handguns and two airsoft pistols before leaving, police said. Thousands Without Power In NJ
Thousands of New Jersey residents were without power as of 9 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 29, following gusty winds that swept the region overnight. The JCP&L map shows the following areas were in the dark: Hunterdon County: 3,953 customers Morris County: 3,642 customers Warren County: 3,594 customers Restoration times were not immediately available. Thursday will be partly sunny with a high near 40 and wind chill values between 20 and 30, the National Weather Service said. Friday, March 1 will be sunny with a high of 47. Escaped Inmate Plunges Down 30-Foot Embankment In Philadelphia While Fleeing US Marshals
The search for an inmate who escaped custody earlier this week in Philadelphia is heating up with new information, and a new reward being offered by the U.S. Marshals Service. Alleem Borden ran from officers on the 1300 block of North Allison Street in West Philly around 6:45 a.m. Monday, Feb. 26, Philadelphia police said. He was reportedly being held in connection with a stolen car. The U.S, Marshals say he escaped while being discharged from a hospital. Pasta Restaurant Replacing Arlington Pizzeria
A new pasta restaurant will be replacing a shuttered Arlington pizzeria. According to its website, Scolapasta will be moving into the space at 4219 Fairfax Dr., formerly occupied by Roma Pizza. Heather Munoz, Fairfax County Realtor, Dies At 49
Heather Lynn Moesle Munoz died on Feb. 20, and was found peacefully in bed with her beloved cat, Lady, her obituary says. She was 49 years old. Heather graduated from Langley High School and went on to have a successful career in real estate, her obituary on the Loudoun Funeral Chapel website says. Heather was predeceased by the love of her life, her husband Michael Munoz, whom she married in 2021 after being together for 27 years, according to her obituary. A 47-year-old Virginia man was arrested for driving drunk for the fourth time, police said. Jonathan McCarroll was spotted by a Stafford County Sheriff's sergeant heading east on the divergent diamond on Courthouse Road just before 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 27, the sheriff's office said. McCarroll was in a pickup truck trying to make illegal turn in onto I-95 south, authorities said.
