Two Charged In Yorktown With Peddling Without A Permit
YORKTOWN, N.Y. -- Yorktown police have issued summonses to two men who allegedly tried to solicit business for a remodeling company without the proper permit.
An officer was dispatched to Farm Walk Road after a report of a town code violation about 12:45 p.m. Thursday, police report.
Following an investigation, it was alleged that two men, identified as Samuel H. Gissen, 25, of Ossining, and Stephen R. Crook, 25, of Oak Lawn, Ill., solicited business for Power Home Remodeling Group without having a valid Yorktown peddlers permit, officials report.

Taste Of Westport Fundraiser To Benefit Clasp
WESTPORT, Conn. -- Taste of Westport volunteers met during the week to continue planning this year’s fundraiser, which will be held on Thursday, May 5, at the Westport Inn, 1595 Post Road East.
The annual event, first held in 2004, offers guests samplings of specialty dishes from more than 20 area restaurants, along with wine, cocktails and desserts. It also includes an auction.
Tickets for the gala are $75 prepaid, or $85 at the door.

Historical Society To Host 'A Taste Of Wilton'
WILTON, Conn. -- The Chamber of Commerce is holding the annual “A Taste of Wilton” exposition on Monday, April 4, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Wilton Historical Society.
The event features a wide array of area chefs, bakers, caterers, restaurants and mixologists offering samples of their specialties to the community.
Tickets, which are $30 in advance and $35 at the door, will soon be available at the Fairfield County Bank, the Village Market, the Wilton Historical Society and the Chamber office.
