RHINEBECK, N.Y. – Donna L. Smith, a lifelong resident of Rhinebeck, died Friday, Jan. 8. She was 69.
Smith made numerous contributions to St. Jude Children's Hospital and the Wounded Warrior Project.

William J. “Bill” Cannon, 80, Of Westwood
WESTWOOD, N.J. – William J. “Bill” Cannon, a resident of Westwood, died Monday, Jan. 11. He was 80.
He served in the U.S. Army and before retiring in 1999, he was the Operations Manager of Alfin Fragrance in Norwood. He was a volunteer fireman and baseball coach for many years in Dumont.
He is survived by his daughter Peggy Conway and her husband John of Pearl River, NY; Dan Cannon and his wife Jennifer of Bergenfield, NJ. He is “Pop Pop,” to Megan and Kathleen Conway and Brendan Cannon. He is also survived by his brother Edward Cannon and his wife Rosemary.

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – Irving Leroy Richardson, resident of Poughkeepsie and previously of Pleasant Valley, died on Thursday, Jan. 7. He was 79.
Richardson served in the United States Army receiving an honorable discharge. He worked for Delano Brothers Paving in Wappingers Falls and was an avid hunter.

STAMFORD, Conn. – Isveno Maccarni “Mac,” a resident of Stamford, died on Friday, Jan. 8. He was 92.
Maccarni graduated from High School in the Bronx, and entered WW II as a ball turret gunner. He served two tours during the European Campaign. He remained connected to his B17 Crew and was known to be the last living member of this esteemed group of men. BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – Marene “Marnie” Gaynor McLaughlin, a resident of Bridgeport, died on Wednesday, Jan. 6. She was 76.
McLaughlin attended The Ethel Walker School in Simsbury, Conn., Hollins College in Roanoke, Vir. and The Katherine Gibbs School in Boston, Mass. She moved to Vero Beach in 1975 and lived at John's Island for 25 years. She was a loyal and tireless "Pink Lady" volunteer at Indian River Medical Center for many years.

BEACON, N.Y. – Mary E. Sommerville, a longtime Beacon resident, died on Tuesday, Jan.12. She was 85.
Sommerville worked for many years as a seamstress at Crescent Lingerie in Beacon. She was a parishioner of St. Joachim – St. John the Evangelist Church.
She is survived by her sister, Jean Vitanza of Beacon; her sister-in-law, Norma Sommerville; and many nieces and nephews.

Aniela Cimala, 93, Of Passaic
PASSAIC, N.J. – Aniela Cimala, a resident of Passaic, died on Wednesday, Jan. 13. She was 93.
Cimala was born in Poland in 1920 after the World War I and as one of nine children, she was raised on a farm in post war Poland. She was taken from her home in 1939 by the Nazis and forced to work as unpaid farm labor in Austria, where she was treated inhumanely, until she was freed by the Allies in 1944. She made her way to Italy, working as a civilian cook for the British troops who brought her to England in 1946.

DANBURY, Conn. – Martha Louise (Winblad) Hansen, a resident of Danbury, died on Friday, Jan. 8. She was 97.
Hansen was a graduate of Central High School in Bridgeport and the Booth and Bayless Commercial School. During World War II, she used her secretarial skills to serve her country as a Yeoman First Class in the U.S. Navy. After the war she worked for many years at an insurance agency.

NORWALK, Conn. -- Elizabeth M. McMahon, a lifelong resident of Norwalk, died on Sunday, Jan. 10. She was 97.McMahon has been an involved member of the community as a volunteer, educator and student. She graduated from Norwalk High School in 1936 and then attended the College of New Rochelle from which she earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English in 1940. She began her 50 year career in education teaching English and History at Norwalk High and Center Jr. High.
