Westport Mystery Author Barbara Pearson-Rac To Speak At Norwalk Library
NORWALK, Conn. -- For its first AuthorSpeak program of 2016, the Norwalk Public Library is pleased to present Westport author Barbara Pearson-Rac, who will discuss her book, "On Track: A Diana Jeffries Mystery," at noon Friday, Jan. 22 in the auditorium.
A light lunch will be provided courtesy of the library.
Pearson-Rac will discuss writing her first novel, which she describes as a “fun little caper,” about four women who stumble on a sinister plot while commuting by train to their jobs in New York City.

Terrance Gene Van Tassell, 55, Of Beacon
BEACON, N.Y. – Terrance Gene Van Tassel, a resident of Beacon, died on Monday, Jan. 11. He was 55.
Van Tassel was a retired Correctional Officer for Downstate Correctional Facility, Fishkill. He was a member of The Emerald Society, Downstate, and a former Volunteer for Beacon Volunteer Ambulance Corps, as well as a member of St. John the Evangelist's Church, Beacon. Terrance served in the U.S. Navy from 1978-1982.

TOMKINS COVE, N.Y. – Gladys L. Manglass, resident of Tomkins Cove, died on Sunday, Jan. 10. She was 94.

Julia Fitzula Martino, 93, Of Haverstraw
HAVERSTRAW, N.Y. – Julia Fitzula Martino, a resident of Haverstraw, died Monday, Jan. 11. She was 93.
Coming from a political family, Martino became active at the age of 21. She worked at the U.S. Naval Ammunition Depot (Iona Island), where she met her husband Anthony, a U.S. Marine stationed there. When it closed in 1948, she became employed at U.S. Military Academy at West Point. After raising her family, she went to work for the Rockland County Personnel Department and was in charge of the Health Insurance for CSEA employees.
