'Loyal, Genuine, Kind': Fundraiser For Family Of State Trooper Who Died Suddenly Nears Goal A GoFundMe for a Massachusetts State Trooper who died unexpectedly last month has raised more than $68,000 for his wife and two young children. The fundraiser hopes to generate $75,000 to help them as they transition. Sgt. Gregory Furtado, a State Trooper since 2006, died overnight on Nov. 30. The cause of his death has not been released. Driver Killed In Stoneham I-93 Crash ID'd As Somerville Woman, 34 Authorities have identified the woman killed in a crash in Stoneham on Wednesday morning, Dec. 13. Kayla E. Discroll, age 34, died when she was ejected from her 2015 Nissan Rogue SUV after it rolled over on I-93 North near Exit 25 just before 9 a.m. Police are not sure what caused her vehicle to crash. Salem Daycare Under Investigation After Toddler Found Wandering Street Alone: Police Police in Essex County said a mail carrier called officers last week when they found a 3-year-old walking alone on a Salem street without shoes. The daycare the boy walked away from is now under investigation. Salem police were called to the Palmer Street area to reports of a young child walking alone just after 11:15 a.m. on Dec. 8. Head-On Collision Sends 2 To Hospital In Western Mass; Woman Airlifted To Trauma Center Two people were rushed to the hospital Tuesday night, Dec. 12, in Franklin County following a head-on collision. One driver had to be cut from her vehicle before paramedics could get her to a doctor. A $650,000 $100X scratch-off ticket was sold at the Town Pantry in Burlington at 85 Wilmington Road on Tuesday, Dec. 12, according to the Massachusetts State Lottery.
