West Milford Students Donate To Animal Shelter WEST MILFORD, N.J. -- Westbrook Elementary School students got to don their pajamas during school in an effort to raise money for a local charity recently. Student's paid $1 while faculty and staff donated $5 for the privilege of sporting their nighttime attire around school.  The $360 raised went to the West Milford Animal Shelter Society.

Acrylic Art On Display At Oakland Library OAKLAND, N.J. -- The Oakland Library will host a reception for an exhibition of acrylic art that has been on display throughout the month on Saturday, Jan. 30.The works on display were created by US Air Force veteran Carla Hicks. They are located in the Downstairs Gallery. The reception will take place from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.  The Oakland Library is located at 2 Municipal Plaza.

Franklin Lakes Animal Hospital Helps Find Emaciated Dog Better Life FRANKLIN LAKES, N.J. -- New Beginnings Animal Rescue is stepping up to help find a new home for Benny, a pit-bull boxer mix who was turned into the Franklin Lakes Animal Hospital. Benny was found emaciated and bleeding on the streets of Paterson. Rockland Elementary School Ranks Among State's Best ROCKLAND COUNTY, N.Y. -- Montebello Elementary School was ranked the 100th-best elementary school in New York State, according to education website Niche.  Niche compiled data on elementary schools and graded them in four weighted categories: Academics Overall district experience Teachers Student culture and diversity Montebello earned an A+ grade for overall district experience and an A in Teachers. Alert Issued For Sewage Overflow From Nyack Manhole NYACK, N.Y. -- The Orangetown Sewer District issued an Environmental alert on Thursday afternoon due to a manhole in Nyack overflowing, officials said. The overflow was said to be dumping sweage into a catch basin that leads to the Hudson River, according to officials.  The manhole was blocked by what appeared to be a rag material. The blockage created an overflow of approximately 10 gallons of water and sewage per minute, officials said. It is unknown if public areas were impacted by the overflow.
