A driver charged in an I-95 crash that killed two men from Kyrgyzstan last spring is expected to surrender to authorities in Philadelphia on Tuesday, Sept. 2, Pennsylvania State Police said. Dimple Patel, 23, of Philadelphia, is facing a slew of charges including DUI, prohibited text-based communication, and homicide by vehicle by DUI in the Sunday, March 3 crash that killed Tolobek Esenbekov and Aktilek Baktybekov. Cops ID Victim, Suspected Gunman In Deadly Paterson Shooting
Police have made an arrest in a Paterson shooting that left a 41-year-old man dead over Labor Day Weekend. Daquann Barnes, 37, of Paterson, is believed to have shot and killed Raheem Porter, who was found lying face down at Auburn and Ellison streets on Saturday, Aug. 31 around 2:45 a.m., Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Department Officer-In-Charge Isa Abbassi said. Porter was taken to Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. A 59-year-old boater was hospitalized after being struck by the propeller of a boat after being ejected from his own and sucked under water in Ocean County over Labor Day Weekend, police said. The Neshanic Station man was heading east on Manahawkin Bay in Long Beach on a personal watercraft when his boat was struck by a 28-foot vessel heading north around 4:35 p.m., New Jersey State Police Sgt. A pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle along a Jersey Shore roadway over Labor Day Weekend, authorities said.
